In Australia, hypnotherapy is a self-regulated field, meaning there are currently no legal requirements for hypnotherapists to meet specific training standards. As a result, many unqualified practitioners may offer services after completing just a short three-day course.
This lack of regulation can make it challenging for individuals to choose the right hypnotherapist from the multitude of advertisements available. It’s essential to select a therapist who is qualified to address your mental health concerns without hypnosis, such as a psychotherapist or psychologist. Otherwise, a hypnosis session may provide only temporary relief without equipping you with lasting skills for change.
Keep in mind that hypnosis is merely a tool; the effectiveness lies in how it’s utilized.

The number of sessions you may need depends on your unique circumstances, but typically, a total of 4 to 6 sessions is recommended. Your personalized treatment plan will be established during the initial session and reviewed at each follow-up.
